Beam can be analysed by 1-D,2-D,and 3-D idealizations.

1-D line meshing is sufficient by defining Cross Section in real constant set.

2-D Plane stress idealization Plane Element (Quad and tria second order.Donot go for linear Triangle elements as they give you less accurate results.In case if u are going for them Refine the mesh at the region of fixity or the region of stress

3-D All solid elements.

I have 3D model and I am trying to mesh in ANSYS workbench.

So in that software what option i have to use.

Select Mesh Method there u will get options to Select,Sweep ,Hex dominant ,or Tetrahedrons.U can select from there.Go for Complete Hexa mesh from Sweep and all hex elements.
