Hello sir, I have completed the challenge. But very interesting one. It took time to figure out.
Hello guys, I too got it in 3 features. Nice challenge. May be I will reveal challenge later.
I think CATIA has this leverage of giving different depths in a single extrude feature. That is really a good thing.
Yes Catia does, but I haven't used this feature for this challenge. I used is feature that is available in every CAD software.
this part can be done in 2 features with CATIA.
CORRECTION: not 2, but 3 features with CATIA is the lowest - Jack K
Very good.
The proportions of the model look weird, but everything is there.
I'm looking forward to seeing your solution, since I can't figure out how to make this in less than four features yet.
Is it with multi-pad, multi-pocket features?
I gave a lot of thought about it but couldn't figure out since there are 2 cuts in perpendicular direction.
Thank you! You are right. The vertical cutout is arbitrarily created. Except that all the dimensions are correct else it wouldn't be possible to achieve this :)
Jack, I think it's impossible in 2 features. I have tried, it need 3 features.
No Multi-Pad or Multi-Pocket features. (they wouldn't help anyway)
I think it's impossible. Can you tell me how to do it or give me a clue I will try to figure the solution for it.
I described my two features in the Solution discussion, but I would appreciate if you could verify it for me since I currently don't have access to CATIA.
I had to give your excellent solution a try for myself.
I thought four features were good, but your method is even better.
Thank you :) appreciate your feedback :)
This is my favorite solution so far.
And I see you have my favorite SW color scheme (before they ruined it).
Thanks for the regular LFC challeges.
I like the old SW colors. News ones are so bland. I have not seen how things look in SW20!
Another member just solved this puzzle in two features. Very impressive!
The file above is SW2018 format. Go give them a like.
Here's a screenshot of the feature tree:
Great work Abby. I'm a fan of modeling with green parts as well. What program are you using?
Inventor. I normally use Solid works, but Inventor is what I have available right now.
Timj,
Great work. Four features was my best as well, then other members figured it out with three, and finally with only two features.
Looks like a fillet is missing from one edge of the model. Also check the method used to blot out your feature tree. The feature icons are unaffected, and it is possible to read the text still.
Posting with a visible feature tree is fine in the related Solution thread. But we keep the trees hidden in this thread to prevent anyone from seeing such spoilers.
Did in three!! many of u have done but just posting :0
keen to know how to do in two:)
