Sorry, for my ignorance here I've not touched Pro/E for about 20 years. My real experience is with SolidWorks.
I want to know if Creo has the capability to create a part that contains multiple bodies, in the same way as SolidWorks, Catia, UG-NX etc. can?
If the answer is yes, I'm then interested to know if Creo has commands to split a single body part up into multiple bodies?
Thanks
Multibody not. Only in surface you may creator with merge more surface bodies.
Yes, there is the option to create multi-body part in Creo. Uncheck the merge option in the model tree as per requirement.
Using component operations you can merge, intersect, cut parts.
Using shrinkwrap you can merge entire assembly in one single solid/quilt for example.
Yes you can do multibody in Creo but it's depends of what do you want to achieve. If you want to do molding Creo have a special module for molding what will make your job much easier.
If u r looking for boolean operation then in creole you can do but this option is available ONLY IN ASSEMBLY to achieve what u want u must creat multiple parts assemble them in assembly and perform boolean operation
In catia u can create multi bodys inside a single part and perform boolean which I personally feel way much handy and easy
If you're talking about true multi-body functionality like in SW, UG, etc., the answer is no... but more like "not yet." It is in development. Some functionality was supposed to be in Creo Parametric 5.0, for PEMs and inserts if I remember correctly, but that didn't happen.
Honestly, the first iteration of what PTC is planning sounds more along the lines of separable and inseparable assemblies - in essence, collapsing the Product Structure / Bill of Materials / Model Tree nodes. But for true multi-body, like creating a part and separating it into multiple parts with different materials and parameters, I think that's going to be more like Creo Parametric 7.0 scheduled for March 2020.

No it's there in Creo new version 7.0
At the time I responded, Creo Parametric 7.0 had not been released. But Ishara, you are indeed correct, Creo now has Multibody functionality. The first video I made on the subject can be found here:
that's a great video.
PTC did forget to add an option for 'merge' two bodies when mirroring.
