Industrial Design

I'm doing more and more work with the J750 and Industrial Designers, and I'm probably going to travel to the Industrial Design Society of America's conference in Chicago in August.

I saw that there was an IDSA chapter in Boston, but haven't seen any events or meetups for them. There is also some sort of magazine that the IDSA publishes for paid members, every month?

What I'm asking is, for those who are/were IDSA members: what benefits did you get out of joining? Was it worth it? I want to meet more IDs and see what they're about, what tools they use, etc.
