Well, let's see. "How to find customer?" as a question. Our group typically schedules a tour of a factory. The selling point being, "We may or may not have solutions for you". If we do see something; a bottleneck, high risk process, etc., etc., we will typically inform the potential client that we can help them in these areas. Then comes cost analysis, assessing where the low hanging fruit is, and if relieving bottlenecks, where the next potential bottleneck will lie.

If done well, you can find yourself in a good place, with lots of potential work. Good cost analysis is essential. Return on Investment is the real selling point, along with clear, concise communication.
