What’s the best way to calculate the torque required for a motor in a simple gear system?

I'm designing a simple gear system and need to know how to calculate the torque required for the motor. Any basic steps or formulas would be helpful!

Devide the desired torque output by the multiplied efficiency factor for each gear stage. If you plan to use 3 gear stages with 20Nm needed tourque, it should look like

20Nm / (0,95 x 0,95 x 0,95) = 20Nm / 0,857375 = 23,33 Nm + your saftey factor
