There're 2 ways. One is classical ''Save As'' command and rename the component. Or you can use ''Make Unique'' command. If you're working in an assembly, right click the component you want to copy and select ''make unique''. Name the component and make it displayed part. Finally save it as the new file.

Working within Teamcenter or Natively?

A 'save as' will change the part in every open assembly that contains the component which is fine if you're the only operator but can be problematic when working collaboratively. If the intent is to 'replace' the component in every instance, then this may be exactly what you're after but be aware of how it works.

Cloning is also a safe option for assemblies. Allows renaming and retaining of component 'paths'.

For a single component you might also opt to export it as a .prt and retain or break as much associativity as is necessary.

Plenty of options... which is true of most things in NX.
