Can anyone tell me what this is called and what its purpose is
I was given this model to build for my solid works class and I for the life of me cant figure out what this thing is supposed to be. Its made using sheet metal so I thought it might be duct or exhaust related. (I dont know if this is supposed to be posted here or not.)

Looks like some sort of telescoping cover. 3 sections that slide in and out of each other.

this is called metal bellow cover for machines sliding bed to protect from dust, water and particle.
