computer reccomendations
We are looking to upgrade our computer hardware running Siemens NX ver 12.0 first quarter 2020. We are currently looking at a single Intel Core i7-9800X 3.8GHz, 4.5GHz Turbo, 8C, 16.5 MB Cachez. looking at 128 or 256 gb ram with an Nvidia Quadpro RTX5000 graphics card. 1TB PCle NVMe Class 40 Solid State drive.
Are we better served to go with a higher ram(256GB) and a RTX5000 graphics card or lower ram(128GB)and a higher graphics card(RTX 6000)?
Is there anything else we can do to increase performance without spending too much $$$?
We are working on 3d assemblies for complex plastic injection molds and high pressure die casting dies. some of our mold assemblies have 500+ components with total file sizes of 2GB.
we have researched the recommended hardware from the Siemens site and they only list the "minimum" requirements. No help with finding higher end boxes.

More RAM, RTX5000 would be my choice.
Might look at the i9-9820x or for a bit less, the i9-9900k but I think your 9800x is probably just fine.
Lots of options to keep the assembly manageable within the load options; lightweight, load structure only, etc., etc.. I typically work with large gas turbine engine assemblies/subs and rarely have an issue. Loading from the network can be another issue entirely...
