How to draw a volute spring?
I need to make a 3d model of a volute spring as attached picture.
Can anyone give me any tips on how to do it, or get me one they've done before.

Same thing but with the coil command. Just a bit simpler.

Create a tapered helical curve in a 3d sketch. Sweep a square profile along this sketch for one side of the volute. Trim the ends as required and then mirror it for the other side. I had trouble with the the square profile overlapping the pitch of the helical curve and had to join several separate sweeps to produce the full volute.
