What are the limitations of SolidWorks Simulation for real-world FEA problems?

SolidWorks Simulation works well for basic studies, but what are its limitations in areas like nonlinear material behavior, large deformations, dynamic loading, or crash simulations? At what point do users prefer tools like ANSYS or Abaqus, and how do you know when SolidWorks isn’t enough?

In FEA the degree of accuracy of model/software depends on mesh quality and weather the correct boundary conditions are applied. If you have some pervious knowledge of Ansys you can see it provide more flexible mesh control, and we can choose from variety of equations. Every software is known for it's specific applications.

So simple answer is you need to understand your model wheather it requires high accuracy results or not. Secondly when you will use multiple platform you'll get to know which is best suited for which application.
