Projecting sketches on surfaces in CATIA V5 is a common task in surface modeling. It allows you to transfer 2D geometry to 3D surfaces, making it possible to create complex shapes.

   Using the Projection command:

   This method is the most straightforward way to project a sketch onto a surface. To do this, follow these steps:

   
   

   Create a sketch in the 3D sketching environment.

   Select the surface where you want to project the sketch.

   Go to the Part Design menu and select Surface Design - Projection.

   In the Projection Definition dialog box, choose the sketch to project and select the projection type. The projection type can be Normal or Along a Direction.

   Click OK to project the sketch onto the surface.
