What about SWEEP / TWIST command? You can find it under the menu;

3D MODEL / Sweep / Sweep / Twist

You can

  1. Step 1:

    Open SWEEP command from the menu.

  2. Step 2:

    First create profile of the rope.

  3. Step 3:

    Then use SWEEP TWIST command to get the following shape.
