how to write on 3d models
Just go to the "insert" toolbar > "Annotations" > "Text" > "Text with leader"
and the click on the part on which you want to write.

For more 3D oriented text to pad or pocket you can use TYPE3-CAA.
TYPE3-CAA allows the integration of texts in catparts. It has the big advantage of keeping the associativity of your catparts with full parametric texts.
