Tutorial - Simulation of Vice Grip in SolidWorks?

The model used is Vice Grip. The file consists of STEP, IGES, and Solidworks version.

1. Step 1:

   Open the Vice Grip assembly.
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Under simulation tab click Study advisor and then new study.
   

   

3. Step 3:

   Keep the default settings and click OK.
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Under fixture advisor click fixed geometry.
   

   

5. Step 5:

   Select these face.
   

   

6. Step 6:

   On the other side also. Keep the default settings and click OK.
   

   

7. Step 7:

   Under external loads advisor click Force.
   

   

8. Step 8:

   Select the handle face and input a value of 250N.
   

   

9. Step 9:

   Apply the same force on the other side too.
   

   

10. Step 10:

    We are not creating mesh. If we don't define the mesh, SolidWorks will automatically create mesh for the part. Click Run.
    

    

11. Step 11:

    After solver is finished we have the Simulation results.
