Laser cuttable designs

I struggle with design software so to try to understand the way I need to design I have been cutting others designs. I did do a tea light holder which took me a few cuts to get perfect.

I do not have the funds for a laser cutter that cuts through metal so I am limited to wood. I created a star wars tie fighter out of a 1/4 thick sheet of pine. It was pieced together and painted and looks amazing hanging from the ceiling.

Hi Aidan I have a laser etcher and don't get into cutting its a small 2500w led but I do 3d printing and other stuff. I have been using software called LUBAN and I noticed it has a simple and easy to use section for setting up both cutting and etching check it out if you get a chance.
