Hi Nathan You can rotate a model in solidworks by the move body command Tutorial 1. However there is a trick in the drawing that allows you to avoid the above command... follow the 2nd tutorial!!! -Check Below... ;) If you found this helpful let the rest know by up-voting the answer ;P

Hi Eleni, Contour Flange is quite different from the Contour Roll ...you might confused them a bit ...I am not sure... ;) Following the description of what are you trying to do I can share with you the following steps. In my model I use both of the commands to make easy for everyone to understand the difference

Hi Dan, The simplify command as you can watch on the following video links creates a new view under the folder "Representations" on the assembly history tree... Link-1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rA68Q07UDes Link-2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B-bHEpeILQ Major purpose of this process is to share the least of the information with your clients, suppliers or partners... by Including only the essential components, defining envelops, etc. On the same "Representation" folder you can actually find another two categories the "Position" and the "Level of Detail". What you really need is to change the Level of Detail... Check Below --->

…and the Oscar goes to …. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCncYdKWhe3g_0b1kOXhxbQw/videos Yes, I know I feel so sad that I am just the guy who sharing the links… ;( But let’s leave me alone and let me share with you some comments for this amazing FREE tutorial!!! Well, this guy is crazy I am telling you… I have never seen something like that before for FREE …and to be honest my old “car –design” project is going to rise from its ashes! ;P The fact that these 17 videos or so, are for FREE allows for some tolerances regarding the professional attitude of this tutorial while trying to capture the full process of designing a car. And the results are definitely above average… The car is not that famous as a Ferari or Lambo but I bet that many CAD users have seen this before. What I found really interesting is that I can learn even more from some of his mistakes while he was trying to loft some profiles etc. I thought that it’s definitely worth some attention and therefore I posted on GC. I hope to make a lot of people to smile for a sec before get angry again with Inventor and surface design ;D Best Regards to all and especially to https://grabcad.com/evan-34 & https://grabcad.com/marshall.rasmussen-1 for don't get mad with me ;P P.S. Please like this youtube videos if you find them useful they deserve more than that!!!

Hi there Nuno has presented a very nice tutorial... However, if you want to be more precise on how the profile is tend to a point you can use the "Loft" command as it can be seen below... Nothing major just to have in mind an alternative option in case that you don't have the right value for the tapper field in "Sweep" command...

Hi Nuno, When you add the .stl in Inventor there is an option see attached... If I check the "meter units" the length of a random edge will be scaled in meters of course that makes sense... However, try and tell if that was the issue otherwise to look on a different solution... Cheers buddy

Hi Saeid, I found this application as an add-on from Autodesk Exchange Apps for Inv. 2013-14 It does exactly what you're willing to do...In the beginning you will like it and I believe you will agree that this is the solution for your problem ...well partially you will be right! BUT only partially! I have to admit that is a smart tool but... I think it has some disadvantages... Let me show you...

FEA is not a simple mathematical operation. Instead it is a computer-based iterative numerical technique along with inevitable discretization errors, as a function of elements. Therefore these errors can be reduced by... specifying more elements (H-refinement) or employing a higher order of polynomial at each iteration (P-refinement). Effectively more computational power is required to solve complex shaped geometries with high dense mesh (Elements). But how dense should be my mesh to get appropriate results without wasting hours on simulation ??? This is the Golden Question! ... There is a criterion for that, called Converged solution... In plain words the mesh does not need any further refinement (denser mesh) as long as the solution is "Converged". The solution is assumed to be "Converged" when the results of the polynomial eq. does not change according to a prespecified tolerance e.g. 10% Good Results, 0.1% Great Results. So, let me share some information how to manipulate the mesh for a model along with three examples. As a conclusion we will enhance your confidence regarding the results you get, whether are relatively accurate or not (Low Percentage of Discretization Errors) without wasting hours on simulation!!! Don't Forget the simulation results are nothing without any experimental results to compare with.

I will not say anything about Autocad but I will give you this tutorial for Inventor... There more than one solutions to your problem so any different opinion should be considered... (e.g.By using circular pattern) Some links below they will give you additional ideas http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Inventor/SWEEP-PROFILE-AROUND-CIRCULAR-FACE/td-p/3729322 http://mfgin3d.blogspot.co.uk/2011/08/sweeping-around.html However mine is totally different... Regards P.S. find attached my file for more details but it is in INVENTOR 2013 sorry for that...!
