Tutorial: How to use rib feature in Autodesk Inventor?

Tutorial to use rib feature in Autodesk Inventor.

1. Step 1:

   Invoke a sketch on the plane as shown.
   

   

2. Step 2:

   Click on offset.
   

   

3. Step 3:

   Select the rectangular profile.
   

   

4. Step 4:

   Drag the mouse inside.
   

   

5. Step 5:

   Provide the dimensions.
   

   

6. Step 6:

   Click "finish"
   

   

7. Step 7:

   Select extrude.
   

   

8. Step 8:

   Extrude cut the profile created previously with offset function.
   

   

9. Step 9:

   Provide the dimension. Click OK.
   

   

10. Step 10:

    Invoke a sketch on the plane shown.
    

    

11. Step 11:

    Create a profile which you want to rib. Finish sketch.
    

    

12. Step 12:

    Click on "rib" feature.
    

    

13. Step 13:

    Select the parameters as shown.
    

    

14. Step 14:

    Select axisymmetric or any other option as per your need.
    

    

15. Step 15:

    Select "finite" to rib the profile to a certain extent of a given dimension.
    

    

16. Step 16:

    Select draft. Provide draft angle if you want. select which end to draft-top or bottom. Click ok.
